Days Between Two Dates
Count calendar days between dates, with business-day breakdown.
Days between two dates
—
How it works
- Days are counted directly on the calendar, one date at a time, never by dividing a millisecond difference, which goes wrong across daylight saving changes.
- The toggle switches convention: end date excluded (Jan 1 → Jan 3 = 2 days) or both endpoints included (= 3 days). The active convention is always labeled.
- The business-day figure uses a standard Saturday–Sunday weekend with no holidays; for your own weekend and holiday rules, use the Business Days Calculator.
Good to know
- Enter the dates in either order: a reversed range is reported as such and the count stays meaningful.
- Weekday counts include both endpoints regardless of the toggle, so the numbers can differ from the headline count by one.
- Leap years and month boundaries are handled by the shared calendar engine (Feb 29 included).

Frequently asked questions
Calendar days vs business days: which is shown?
Both. Calendar days count every date, whereas the business-day figure excludes your selected weekend days and any custom holidays you add.
Why not just divide the millisecond difference by 86,400,000?
Because that is wrong across daylight saving changes: some local days are 23 or 25 hours long. These calculators count calendar dates directly, so the result is right in every zone.
Is “from Jan 1 to Jan 3” two days or three?
Both are legitimate: 2 days elapsed, or 3 days inclusive of both endpoints. The toggle switches conventions, and the label always shows which is active.
