About Now Timers

Every date and time tool in one place: free, fast, and entirely in your browser.

What this is

Now Timers (nowtimers.com) is a collection of 32 tools for the everyday arithmetic of time: converting Unix timestamps, comparing time zones, counting days and business days, timing things, and turning worked hours into decimal hours. It exists because these questions come up constantly and most answers online are wrapped in ads, dark patterns or sign-up walls.

How it works

Every calculation runs in your browser. Dates, timestamps, times and zone choices you enter are processed by JavaScript on your device and displayed back to you; nothing is uploaded, logged or shared. The time-zone engine uses the IANA database built into your browser, so conversions reflect the same rules your operating system applies.

Principles

  • Private by architecture: no accounts, no analytics, no cookies for tracking, and no server-side processing of your inputs. See the privacy policy.
  • Stated conventions: where counting is ambiguous (such as whether the end day is included or what happens to Feb 29 birthdays), the tool states which rule it applies instead of burying it.
  • Accuracy over shortcuts: days are counted on the calendar, timers measure against monotonic clocks, and offsets are resolved per instant. The calculation engine is unit-tested.
  • Free, without strings: no paywalls, no usage caps, and no “pro” tiers.

What it is not

It is not payroll or compliance software: rounding rules, overtime and holiday entitlements vary by jurisdiction, and the work-hours tools calculate durations only. It is also not a history source for pre-Gregorian dates or defunct zone rules beyond what the IANA database ships.

Status

The site is actively maintained. Rule-dependent results (time zones, DST dates) come from the browser’s IANA database and stay current as your browser updates. If a result ever looks wrong, the stated convention on each tool page is the first place to check, as it usually explains the difference.
