Comment ça marche

  1. The classic cycle: a 25-minute focus block, then a 5-minute break, with a longer 15-minute break after every 4 focus blocks. All four values are editable.
  2. Each phase runs on the same monotonic-clock countdown as the standalone timer; remaining time is recomputed from the clock, never accumulated from ticks, so throttled background tabs cannot cause drift.
  3. When a phase completes, the next phase starts automatically (with an announcement, and an optional chime); durations you edit apply from the next phase onward.

Bon à savoir

  • Completed focus sessions are counted in the page for the current visit only: nothing is stored or transmitted.
  • Skip ends the current phase immediately and moves to the next one; Reset returns to an idle focus phase and clears the session count.
  • The chime is optional and off by default; it plays only because you interacted with the page.

What is the Pomodoro technique?
Work in focused 25-minute blocks separated by 5-minute breaks, with a longer break every four blocks. The name comes from the tomato-shaped kitchen timer the technique’s creator used.
Can I change the durations?
Yes: focus, short break, and long break lengths, plus the long-break interval, are all editable and apply from the next phase onward.
Is my session count saved?
Completed sessions are kept in the page for the current visit only. Nothing is stored or transmitted: clearing or closing the tab starts fresh.
