Current UTC time
Coordinated Universal Time (updated every second)
Comment ça marche
- The page reads your device’s clock every second, aligned to the second, and renders the current instant in UTC: the time standard the world’s clocks and computers regulate against.
- UTC has no daylight saving and no offset: it never shifts during the year, which is what makes it the safe reference for logs, APIs and aviation.
- Your local time, zone and offset rows are derived from the same instant, so everything on the page stays consistent.
Bon à savoir
- For everyday purposes UTC and GMT read the same; UTC is the modern atomic-clock standard.
- Updates re-read the system clock rather than counting ticks, so background-tab throttling can never make the display drift: returning to the tab resyncs instantly.
- Copy buttons capture the value at the moment you click; the clock keeps ticking.

Foire aux questions
Is UTC the same as GMT?
For everyday purposes yes: both give the same wall time. Technically UTC is the modern atomic-clock standard and GMT is a time zone; no country observes GMT-only rules that differ from UTC in the modern era.
Why would I want UTC instead of my local time?
UTC is the lingua franca of servers, logs, APIs and aviation. It never shifts for daylight saving, which makes it the safest reference when coordinating across zones.
Does the clock drift if I leave the tab open?
No. It re-reads the system clock on every update and resyncs the moment you return to the tab, so throttling in the background never accumulates error.
